Session Description: A brisk walk outside. The sun shining on our backs. Breathing in the crisp, clean, air, and enjoying the sight of greenery and lush trees in the great outdoors. The advantages we have in elevating our health and well-being has always been with the cornerstone of associating being outside in nature. The positive influences that are reflected in our mental health have a direct correlation as a result of greater green spaces. Join us in a conversation as we take a deeper dive in discussing ways we are investing in our community’s health and mental well-beingwhile also embracing and contributing to the health of our urban canopies through re-forestation and the process of grid-pruning to maintain the health of our urban forest.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to learn about how other municipalities, districts, or counties are investing in their community’s mental and public health by investing in their urban canopies.
Upon completion, participants will be able to address issues on in an innovative way such as: inequities in urban green space as it relates to mental and public health of their residents and visitors that frequent their communities.
Upon completion, participants will be able to answer questions such as: How do you leverage policies to benefit the public health of our respective communities?
