JUNIOR DIRECTOR WORKING TIRELESSLY

For 13 years, April heading into May was a busy and stressful – yet the most exciting – time of the year for Dianne Matias as an NCAA Division I women’s tennis coach. But a little over two and a half years ago, Matias decided to turn in the clipboard and leave the sidelines, choosing an entirely different path and becoming the Director of Junior Tennis for USTA Southern California.

A sport fostering familial bonds and community, tennis has united people since its inception. One family from Fountain Valley has embraced tennis not only as players but also as officials.

The ITF Masters 50, 55, and 60 World Team Championships saw a total of 101 teams compete in Mexico City for the ultimate award: a World Championship gold medal. 

AFTER 70 YEARS, THE OJAI TOURNAMENT SAYS GOODBYE TO THE PAC-12

It was a bittersweet ending as the venerable Ojai Tennis Tournament said goodbye to the Pac-12 Conference during the playing of the 122nd tournament at Libbey Park the last week of April.
