Monica has over 20 years serving the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks. She is passionate about equality, transparency and providing opportunities for all. She is a team player who leads by example and specializes in project management and large scale trainings. She has extensive experience in programing and fostering partnerships with community leaders. Monica was an active member of the Recreation and Parks Emergency Response Action Team for seven years assisting with the management of multiple historical Southern California fires. During the pandemic she supported and supervised 100+ Disaster Service Workers assigned to 15 shelters throughout the City. Monica has made a significate impact in the department's response to mass care and sheltering, and is determined to provide essential services and structure to the diverse communities of Los Angeles.
