Ready 2 Imagine
Pleasant Hill, California
Bria Cartwright, Founder and Chief Imagination Officer for Ready 2 Imagine consulting, is an expert in youth development, gender equity, workplace culture and leading change, with over 30 years experience in recreation and youth development, staff engagement and development, guest service and teamwork. As the Executive Director/VP of 4 different overnight camps over the course of 20 years, she is a leader in creating intentional programs designed to make a lasting impact on youth and staff. Her efforts resulted in exponential enrollment growth and increased staff satisfaction and retention.
Prior to her work in camping, she served as the Executive Director of the Hilltop Family YMCA, where she developed a culture of exceptional service, connection, quality and fun, which resulted in significant membership growth and increased staff morale and engagement.
She currently focuses much of her energy on equity and inclusion for all genders. She developed one of the earliest trans* inclusion guides in the camping industry and works with organizations to explore the larger impact of bias on all genders – women & girls, gender expansive and transgender individuals, and men and boys. She imagines – and works to build - a world where no one is limited by perceptions related to their gender and where each individual thrives and is celebrated for their truest self.
Bria has a BA from the UC Santa Cruz, is a faculty-level trainer for YMCA of the USA, a facilitator of the American Camp Association New Director Orientation, and a graduate of the Disney University Quality Service program. Bria is a believer in the power of quality, hard work, laughter and play. In her free time, she loves to travel the globe with her husband Matt, enjoys time in the outdoors and spends lots of time cuddling with her dog Willow.
