    Recreation Coordinator II

    I'm currently a Recreation Coordinator II for the City of Folsom Parks & Recreation Department in the Community Cultural Services Division in charge of a large number of events, community partnerships, Teen Council, and contracted camps, but my main responsibility and passion is managing the department's social media and marketing. I have been with the district for 8 years following 6 1/2 years at a previous district in the sports department's youth sports division, where I successfully launched the division's social media and branded the youth sports division. I was also a part of forming the Youth Sports Collaborative in District 2 and served as the first president before serving as president for 2 terms for District 2's Youth and Teen Recreation Services group.

    Growing up in an inner city, mentors played a big role in my upbringing and especially in college. This is something that I have continued to give back to as a mentor for 1st Year Academically At-Risk College Students through the Puente Project, at-risk children in Folsom Hope's Lunch Buddy Program, and coaching athletes from elementary age to college for over 15 years.

    I am thankful to have found a career in Parks & Recreation and grateful to be a part of a profession that helps make people's lives better in the communities we serve.
