Jill Geller has been a park and recreation professional for nearly 40 years, starting her career at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) in Johnson County, Kansas. Jill moved through the ranks at JCPRD to become the Executive Director and led the District through two successful accreditations, in 2014 and 2019. Under Jill’s leadership, JCPRD was recognized as a National Gold Medal finalist in 2016 and the recipient of the Class I National Gold Medal Award in 2017. She served as president of the Kansas Recreation & Park Association in 2010 and received the Distinguished Fellow Award from the association in 2018. She received the Professional Fellow Award from the National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials in 2020. Jill moved to California in 2019 where she currently serves as the City of Roseville's Director of Parks, Recreation & Libraries. Roseville Parks, Recreation & Libraries is proud to have been named a Class III National Gold Medal Finalist in 2022. Jill is a Certified Park and Recreation Executive and has long been an active member of the National Recreation and Park Association, previously serving as chair of the Certification Committee and as a member of the National Certification Board. She was inducted into the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration in 2019 and currently leads the Academy's Mentoring Committee.
