Lydie Gutfeld has worked in local government for the past 30 years. She has been fortunate to work for agencies such as Beverly Hills, Irvine, Mission Viejo and now is the new Director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services for the city of San Bernardino. Lydie’s experience in parks and recreation is extensive as she has worked diligently to engage, empower and enhance park and recreation services throughout the nation. Her resume is impressive as she has developed and implemented policies, programs and services to create community engagement. She has served on numerous boards, including the Presidential Series for the California Park and Recreation Society State Board and the National Women in Leisure Services Board of Directors. She was the recipient of the Helen I Pontius National award of Merit in 2019 for her service and dedication to the field of Parks and Recreation and developing female leaders. Lydie finished her MPA at Cal State Fullerton with honors in 2017 and was named the Lead Fellow in the City Managers Fellowship Program. She speaks nationwide to cities and special districts about emotional intelligence, leadership, program development, and creating impact in communities. Lydie also is the owner of a nationally ranked competitive cheerleading company, Cheer Better United. She is married with three children (19,11 and 6) and resides in Anaheim Hills.
