Session Description: Public parks and recreational facilities are vital to the community's health and well-being but like everyone else, Public Agencies are facing severe water restrictions. This interactive, informative, and engaging session will provide Parks professionals with the tools and techniques to plan for, implement, and maintain functional and beautiful parks while being a water conservation leader in the community.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify specific opportunities (turf conversions, infrastructure improvements, landscape design guidelines, new park development) in their organization for drought response while continuing to meet their community's expectations
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify strategies to implement and fund drought response projects in their community
Upon completion, participants will be able to identify, track, and communicate results of their organization's completed drought response projects
