Session Description: By 2030, one in every three Californians will be over the age of 50. As California continues to age, senior centers will be the hub for fun community connections and wellness opportunities. This session will provide you with the knowledge to successfully program for all ages of older adults, language to reframe aging and identify ageism and how it effects all areas of senior center.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participants will have the knowledge to implement programming that is inclusive of all ages of older adults in their community.
Upon completion, participants will learn why our incomplete understanding of ageing perpetuates negative stereotypes of older adults.
Upon completion, participants will understand what ageism is and how to take action to confront and challenge this issue.
