Session Description: Business planning is an essential step in identifying all aspects for the successful operation of a park, program or service. This type of planning is being required more and more by Boards or Councils as there is greater scrutiny of tax dollar spending. It also assists the organization with its continuous improvement process as planning allows for the thorough understanding of operations. Participants will gain knowledge of the key components of a business plan and will be given examples of what information belongs in their plan to sell their concept. A particular emphasis will be given to the formulation of plans for programs and facilities so that all participants can use the information to make an immediate impact on their organization.
